Job Description

Oracle PDIT DIS is seeking a Principal System Administrator (Hyper-V)

to manage the global windows infrastructure for our product development

organization.

The successful candidate will use their experience to manage the

Hyper-V cloud, Active Directory Domains, Windows Server platforms, handle

escalations and build automation using Powershell.

Principal System Administrator (Hyper-V) plays a key role in designing and supporting Windows Infrastructure in the Oracle Data

Centers worldwide. The role requires deep understanding of Hyper-V cloud, Microsoft

Failover Clustering, System Center Virtual Machine Manager and Active

Directory.

In addition, this role as Principal System Administrator is responsible for complex problem resolution, creating and

improving procedures and facilitating communication and scripting to

automate various tasks.

Other duties include researching, proofing, and authoring

technical documentation that are beneficial to the company. This is a great career

While his/her primary role is supporting Hyper-V cloud and

Active Directory, she/he will be also occasionally required to take active role

in testing applications, and diagnosis of IT problems outside their scope of

responsibility. A successful candidate will be required have a broad range of

knowledge and experience, as well as be a quick learner to understand and work

with specialized systems.

Skills/experience

  • 8 to 12 years of experience working

in IT Operations\Infrastructure team

  • Experience in designing and

building highly available Hyper-V clusters

  • Experience in deploying and

troubleshooting Microsoft Failover Clusters

  • Experience in Microsoft

System Center Virtual Machine Manager administration

  • Experience in Hyper-V

disaster recovery and resolving complex Hyper-V cluster and VMM related issues.

  • Experience in writing

PowerShell based automation for Hyper-V

  • Experience in Active

Directory Administration

  • Experience in Active

Directory disaster recovery and resolving complex active directory issues

  • Experience in Windows Server

administration, Windows deployment technologies and resolution of complex operating system

issues

  • Experience in working with

or supporting production, test, and development environments for medium to

large data centers

  • Ability to come up

with best solution by capturing big picture instead of focusing on minor

details/issues. Experience in performing root cause analysis

  • Possess and

demonstrates strong logical-thinking skill, full of intellectual curiosity and

high desire for self-development.

  • Good communication skills

and the ability to work well in a team environment

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science,Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas is preferred

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliablility of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. May play a team leader role for developing System Administrators.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Eight years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
