Development Infrastructure Services (DIS), part of the Production, Engineering, and Operations team (PE&O) is responsible for managing and supporting all compute infrastructure needs for Oracle Product Development teams. The enormous infrastructure and diverse range of platforms required by the development teams is facilitated by datacenters setup across all regions to provide end-to-end support for compute and storage capacity by the DIS team. These global Datacenters across all regions consisting servers make it necessary to maintain service and support throughout the day. DIS is dedicated to delivering timely, consistent, repeatable and cost-effective solutions while exceeding Oracle Development team’s onsite Datacenter requirements across these strategic regional locations.
The ability to perform work independently is required:
Manage compute capacity for development teams across global datacenters
Assist development teams to ensure that they can efficiently manage their compute capacity
Perform detailed and complex analysis of deployed, incoming, and outgoing capacity
Manage deployments of compute capacity
Produce documentation to aid development and support teams
Assist in setting and maintaining policies surrounding the management of compute capacity
Provide input to design and enhance tools used to manage compute capacity
Assist in critical support and global maintenance activities
Ability to learn new technologies with an interest in expanding and applying this knowledge as new emerge.
Possess and demonstrates strong logical-thinking skill, full of intellectual curiosity and high desire for self-development.
Thorough understanding of IT hardware skills (Oracle-Sun, HP, etc.).
Working knowledge of network, LAN/WAN concepts e.g. TCIP, switches, routers, vLANs, etc.
Experience in deployment and maintenance of Oracle Systems and environments
Experience in installation and configuration of Linux, Solaris, and Windows server environments is preferred
Working knowledge of Oracle OVM, VMWare virtualization technologies and exposure to Cloud configuration tools such as mCollective, Chef, and Puppet would be advantage.
Business Level English Skills
Ability to come to the best solution by capturing the big picture instead of focusing only on the minor details/issues which only affect us/clients in a short run.
Familiarity in Perl / Python / Apex programming, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) along with Operating systems skills will be given preference.
4 years of experience in an IT Operations team or similar discipline
Experience in a technical mission-critical environment
Strong technical, analytical, and problem solving skills
Ability to complete tasks and deliverable within expected timelines
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to details, and willingness to learn and be methodical about following procedures.
Able to work independently as a part of a larger team in a global organization
Able to multitask in high pressure situations and take ownership of project / tasks from planning, deployment, and post-deployment support

Any Degree (Preferably – Computer science/Electronics/Electrical)
10 to 12 years technical work experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / NEEDS
- Ability and willingness to work shifts (day, evening) and provide on-call support on a rotational basis.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Work with Oracle's world class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracle's global infrastructure.
As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems. Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. BS or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems.
