The European Sales Consulting (pre-sales)

organization within Oracle Retail is seeking an Applications Technology Consultant,

focused on Supply Chain and Fashion planning processes, to join our expanding team.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience

on Supply Chain and Fashion planning business processes and will master

all the RPAS customization layers (Configuration Tool, RPAS Java Library,

Fusion UI & RPAS Extensions Framework - UI Plug-ins).

A good technology experience across the

Oracle Fusion Middleware stack or equivalent tools (SOA, ADF, Java programming)

is highly requested.

Enterprise retail domain knowledge and experience

of the extended Oracle Retail Suite is beneficial but not mandatory.


  • Support Supply Chain and Fashion Planning sales

opportunities by conducting customized demonstrations, presentations and Proofs

of Concept, responding to Requests for Proposals and conducting discovery sessions

with clients

  • Use of RPAS Configuration layers (Configuration

Tool, RPAS Java Library, Fusion UI & RPAS Extensions Framework - UI Plug-ins)

and Oracle Fusion Middleware components

(such as SOA Suite, WebCenter Portal and Oracle Business Intelligence) to build

composite business processes and scenarios for demonstration purposes

  • Demonstrate in‐depth understanding of Retail

technology, business environments and practices and use familiarity with competitor’s

products and services to differential our offering.

  • Leverage Oracle’s planning & technology

components to build a compelling ‘One Oracle’ message during the sales cycle, with

the ability to demonstrate core knowledge of each component

  • Understand and contribute to the RGBU’s product

strategy especially in the areas of Supply Chain and Fashion Planning


  • Design and build innovative demonstrations

to support sales opportunities

  • Innovate our offering and demonstration

capability using Oracle planning & technology components, mainly through

RPAS Configuration layers and Oracle Fusion Middleware stack

  • With a main

focus on SUPPLY CHAIN & FASHION PLANNING, be responsible for the design,

development and maintenance of the RPAS Pre Sales “EMEA POV”, set of standard

demo’s representing the

EMEA Point of View

  • Support discovery sessions with technical evaluators,

business users, systems integrators etc

  • Undertake hardware sizing exercises and build

technology license bill of materials for customer proposals

  • Articulate the value of the proposed Oracle

solution in the context of the customer’s business problem and requirements and

demonstrate competitive superiority and technical knowledge


  • 3 years experience in the Retail sector (either

within a Retailer or Software supplier), with a focus on Supply Chain &

Fashion planning and technology

  • 3 years experience in a sales consulting

(pre‐sales) role

  • Demonstrable hands‐on experience with a

majority of the following: RPAS Configuration Tool, RPAS Server &

Fusion UI, RPAS Java Library, RPAS Extensions Framework, Oracle Supply Chain

& Fashion Planning Templates

  • Demonstrable hands‐on experience with a majority

of the following Oracle technologies:

Java, ADF and J‐Developer, WebLogic

Server, Database (11g/12c), SOA Suite, WebCenter Portal, Business Intelligence

  • Experience with Oracle Retail Supply

Chain, Planning and Optimization Products – including RPAS Platform, RDF, RO,

AIP, RPO, MFP, CM, AP, IP, COE, SPO or similar solutions from other software

vendors is desirable

  • Knowledge of Advanced Forecasting, Data

Mining and/or Optimization Algorithms applied to retail business is


  • The candidate should possess strong written

and verbal communication skills

  • Education to BS degree or equivalent is required;

advanced degree desirable

  • Experience of other Planning tools or

other Oracle Applications such as eBusiness Suite, Fusion Apps, etc is desirable

  • The role requires national and international

travel 20% of the time

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
