Shell Energy’s ambition in Japan is to become a significant player across the power value chain within 10 years. An integrated approach on the access to generation assets will prevent development margin loss, reduced transaction costs and opportunity to leverage both Shell New Energy and Shell Energy’s customer base around the globe.
The Renewable Power Development Manager is responsible for generation of a renewable power asset base, supporting integrated value to Shell Energy Japan.
Strategy: Update, fine-tune, and execute the overall strategy for the Japanese solar market.

required Qualities :
Fluency in Japanese and proficiency in English.
Degree in Finance / Economics / Business / Law or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience required, at least five years in solar PV and Renewable Power space
Record of success in originating, negotiating, closing and developing solar PV or Renewable Power deals
Experience in sourcing, building, and managing strong industry and customer relationships
Assertive, able to cope with dynamic surroundings, problem solving abilities, a team player, prepared to travel
Deep understanding of Japanese competitive landscape
Demonstrated ability and drive in generating deal flow and closing deals
Demonstrated initiative, ownership and focus regarding all tasks and deliverables related to deal closing

Shell New Energies – Renewable Power team has adopted the the Design, Build, Sell, Operate (DBSO) to:
• Maximize value creation from origination of customer-led offtake and projects/assets from early-stage development
• Optimize long-term financial performance by selling down de-risked assets to financial investors, preferably to Shell owned/managed AssetCo in arms-length transactions
• Maintain long-term offtaker relationship
• Capture upside value from asset optimization and integration via active long-term asset management services
