Performance Test Engineer
Accountabilities, Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as Performance testing champion (load, capacity,baseline, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, volume tests)
Work with Product, UI/UX, Infrastructure, Architecture,IT or Cloud Operations and Development teams in identifying non-functionaltest requirements and criteria to define appropriate test data, scope andenvironment needed.
Define, create and execute performance test roadmaps,plans and strategies.
Liaise with cross functional teams to understand clientusage patterns and data sizes and apply them appropriately in performancetests.
Create high quality, reliable, sustainable and reusableperformance test scripts.
Execute performance tests.
Measure, analyze and interpret performance test results.
Provide reports and recommendations.
Work with development teams in investigating, probingand resolving system performance related issues, bugs and bottlenecks.
Participate in bug/defect triage and review process.
Identify improvements in preventing early detection ofperformance related production issues.
Advocate improving performance quality standards andprocesses during all stages of software development.
Recommend new tools and techniques to improveperformance testing efficiency and delivery.
Achieve the goal of continuous and daily automatedload/performance test execution and proper analysis and communication ofresults.
Advocate QA mindset among team members.
Desired Competencies and Experience
- Must have atleast 5 years of applied and proven load testing experience.
Experience with full
spectrum of performance testing, such as capacity, baseline, stress, spike,
endurance, scalability, volume and load testing are a plus.
Must possessat least a bachelor’s or college degree in Computer Science, ComputerEngineering or Information Technology.
Demonstrate astrong understanding of the SDLC process and experience in Agile/Scrumframework.
Provenexperience in planning, creating and implementing performance teststrategic roadmaps, standards and coding/scripting conventions.
Provenexperience in identifying performance test scenarios from non-functionalrequirements and/or user stories.
Provenexperience in writing and executing load generation scripts.
Provenexperience in analyzing and interpreting performance / load test results.
Provenexperience in installing, configuring and maintaining distributed loadgeneration rig.
Provenexperience in performance tuning and bug resolution.
Provenexperience working in both Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
Provenexperience working with relational databases and server performancemonitors.
Provenexperience in writing basic scripts.
Must haveworking knowledge of load balancing, single/multi tenancy, microservices,cloud and multi-tier web application architectures.
Workingknowledge and experience with Continuous Integration, deployment andrepositories.
Experienced working and proactivelycollaborating with globally distributed development teams and businessstakeholders, seeking out information/solution from the appropriatechannel/s as necessary.
Excellent organizational skills, multitaskingability, manages time effectively by placing the right focus on valueadding tasks and operations.
Research-oriented and analyticalproblem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communicationskills
Team playerwith strong work ethics and roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
Adaptable to work in a different time zone (ifnecessary).
Knowledge in NetSuite is a plus.
Knowledge inOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus.
Softwaredevelopment experience is a plus.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
