Combined Insurance Accountant in United States

_RELATIONSHIPS AND SCOPE:_

This position will report to the Senior Manager – Reinsurance Accounting. This position will maintain assigned reinsurance treaties and facultative agreements, including receivables, payables, cash application, collections, account reconciliation and communication with third parties.

_Responsibilities include:_

· Prepare, disburse and settle monthly and quarterly accounts in accordance with the contract. · Work internally and with third parties to verify receipt of billings, initiate collection of open balances in accordance with established procedures, respond to queries, resolve receivable and payable discrepancies, and elevate unresolved collection issues. · Ability to interpret various reinsurance contract wordings and comply with contractual requirements. · Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly ceded reinsurance financial reports. · Prepare manual journal entries. · Research and resolve accounting and statistical discrepancies.

_MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:_

· Degree – Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial, Business. · One to Three years of reinsurance or accounting experience. · Excellent organizational skills. · Ability to multitask and establish priorities to address objectives. · Ability to work independently and within a team. · Ability to identify/analyze situations or issues and determine practical/innovative solutions. · Excellent oral and written communication skills required. · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access and PeopleSoft is preferred.
