Vinnell Arabia Airfield Operations Specialist in United States
Subject matter expert in Airfield Management tasks specific in both a training and operational environment. Executes daily airfield management tasks in support of Rotary Wing aircraft operations. Supports airfield operations and support activities to ensure safe and effective flight operations.
- Responsible for assisting the Airfield Manager in the execution of airfield operations tasks and execution of all function and activities in support of flight operations. Responsible for supporting the safe operation, employment, maintenance, and flight procedures of rotary wing aircraft. The ability to accomplish the following:
a. Coordinates with aircrews, air traffic control, and various base agencies that provide for safe operation of aircraft in the airfield environment.
b. Brief aircrews on local training and departure flight planning procedures
c. Compiles, prepares, and distributes correspondence, such as aviation operations reports, aviation safety reports and flight schedules.
d. Performs daily airfield inspections and checks to include runways, taxiways, aprons, pavements, signs, lighting and airfield safety clearance zones.
e. Procures, maintains, and produces information for safe airfield operations. Information includes flight plans, Flight Information Publications, aeronautical charts and maps, Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), local airfield and navigational aid status, and weather information.
f. Monitor and operate various communications systems used for communication to coordinate with aircraft flight crews, emergency response crews, refuel, security forces, and air traffic control service providers.
g. Review, interprets and enforce policies, instruction and directives pertaining to airfield operations.
h. Manages flight line driving program to include operational procedures, training and certification requirements.
i. Respond to and manage airfield aircraft emergency and accidents/incidents, and downed aircraft recovery mission
B. Independence: Reports to the Airfield manager. Works within the rules and regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) guidelines. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities: As assigned by the Airfield manager.
D. Travel: Travel within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia may be required in the performance of duties.
A. Education Level: Required: High School Graduate. Associates degree preferred. Required: Graduate of DOD or civilian equivalent Airfield Operations Course.
B. Experience: 4 Years’ experience in Airfield Management. Preferred: E5 and above
C. Specific knowledge, skills, ability: Must possess an understanding of Airfield Management Operations specific to rotary wing aircraft. Demonstrated performance in Airfield Operations activities from previous job positions. A working knowledge of the employment of weather and ATC support in airfield operations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to deal effectively with people in the supervision of personnel. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Possess a valid driver’s license.
