Combined Insurance AVP, Talent and Development in United States

Working as part of the Talent & Development team, this role will support the execution of Chubb’s Talent Management and Learning strategy partnering closely with the Human Resources’ Business Partners and various business groups. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record as a Talent and Development (T&D) and Human Resources (HR) professional with proven accomplishments in developing, managing, and facilitating talent and development programs. This position requires an individual who has the maturity in judgment, energy and the discipline to drive change programs in Chubb’s fast paced and matrix environment. The successful candidate will report to the VP of Talent & Development, Chubb North America.


/Talent Management Focus:/

  • Works collaboratively for the development and implementation of talent management programs including Performance Management, Talent Reviews, Career Development and High Potentials Development and supports Individual Development Planning to drive performance and retention.

  • Develops and drives the execution of project plans related to talent management programs and projects, including timelines, metrics, documentation, education and communications.

  • Identifies opportunities to update, simplify, automate, and enhance existing processes, programs, and tools to better meet the needs of the organization.

  • Responsible for building relationships and collaborating with all HRBP’s, Field HR and business units, to address current and future Talent Management needs.

  • Researches best practices and makes recommendations to introduce new processes, programs, and tools to drive the attraction, selection, development, and retention of talent within Chubb.

  • Tracks, trends and communicates information related to talent management programs to key stakeholders to maintain engagement and provide input into decisions about program scope and direction.

/Instructional Focus:/

  • Quickly and iteratively produce highly effective and engaging learning materials that meet business requirements by working with subject matter experts and executives.

  • Effective facilitation of relevant Instructor-Led programs as needed. The ability to develop and create presentations, webinars, performance support tools, role plays, job aids, knowledge checks, self-study materials and social collaboration learning.

  • Create instructor guides and prepare appropriate colleagues (HRBP’s and Managers) to use learning materials as needed.

  • Collect and analyze evaluation feedback and metrics data to proactively identify course improvement opportunities.

  • Fully conversant with adult learning principles and maintains a keen understanding of learning science.

  • Work on multiple projects concurrently, sometimes with short timelines.


/Knowledge/Experience:/ * Minimum of 8 years of T&D/HR experience * Bachelor’s degree preferred * Proven track record in creating and leading strategic HR/LD initiatives * Perform with a sense of urgency without compromising on excellence with a strong commitment to achieving results * Relationship management, coaching, and collaboration skills * Strong communication skills-oral and written * A Can do attitude, alert and adaptable * Influencing and consultative skills
