The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the Global Services Branch leadership team in achieving business results that supports our international offices. This individual must demonstrate the ability to effectively transfer knowledge to staff enabling them to grow and develop as underwriters, while demonstrating strong business acumen and balanced underwriting approach. This individual must also demonstrate the ability to effectively work with, train and guide Chubb Overseas General (COG) in understanding the U.S. market place, U.S. products and U.S. legal climate. This position may require periodic international travel. The position affords visibility with both international and U.S. senior management.


  • Direct supervision of underwriting team

  • Achievement of new business and renewal retention goals

  • Ensure compliance with rates, forms and filings

  • Daily interaction and collaboration with underwriters around the world

  • Development and maintenance of producer relationships

  • Development and training of international underwriters

  • Manage and work an assigned book of business

  • Account management


  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing a Commercial portfolio, including a track record of results achievement, customer development, collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, analytical, marketing/negotiation skills and pricing acumen.

  • 10 years commercial underwriting experience

  • Demonstrated strong technical acumen in Property and/or Casualty lines of business

  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively

  • Strong (verbal and written) communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Strong collaboration with counterparts and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners on a worldwide basis

  • Proven organizational and analytical skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software

  • Demonstrated ability to multi task

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
