Vinnell Arabia Chief, Logistics in United States
Provides assistance and training in the technical areas of supply, maintenance and transportation within the Brigade and the Logistical Support Battalion (LSB). Coordinates and plans training for the Officers and soldiers within the LSB. Trains the Battalion Staff, Supply, Maintenance and Transportation Company (SMTCO), and Maintenance Company in all logistical matters to include both garrison and tactical field operations.
Provides technical and management assistance to the SMTCO in the areas of supply, maintenance, and transportation management to include the use of automated logistics systems.
Conducts periodic evaluations of the SMTCO effectiveness in the areas of supply, maintenance and transportation management. Recommends corrective action for improvement or sustainment, as required.
Trains and assists the LSB and Brigade/Battalion S-4 in all logistics functions and processes at the tactical and operational levels. Assists in identifying logistics training requirements.
Assists the sector logistics units in identifying required maintenance, marshaling, storage facilities, and associated equipment.
Coordinates for logistics training support and provides oversight on all Brigade and Battalion level training being conducted for planning and execution of SMTCO operations.
Assists development and use of internal procedures to manage and control the use of Supply, Maintenance, and Transportation resources (Personnel, Property and Facilities).
Assists and trains MNG maintenance activities in production control operations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
B. Independence: Works under the general guidance of the Manager, Training Branch.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities: One (1) Assistant Trainer (AT).
*A. Education Level: *Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Completion of an advance course level military multi-functional logistics management course or Warrant Officer or Senior Leader Course (formerly Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course).
B. Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in maintenance and logistics management with minimum five (5) years’ experience at battalion or higher level. Must be experienced in the use of automated logistics systems to manage supply and/or maintenance operations. Multi Functional Logistican: Former Officer, Senior Warrant Officer or Senior NCO.
*C. Specific knowledge, skill, ability requirements: *Knowledge of policies, procedures, principles and training in maintenance and logistics management. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to deal with people. Possess a valid driver's license.
