Viqtory seeks a Digital Media Manager to oversee audience development in its Military Spouse brand. Primary duty will be generating online audience engagement as measured by registered users (RUs) on our website and followers on social media platforms.

The role has voice and content production oversight of Military Spouse’s media properties including website, social media sites, digi-mag, print magazine (published 10x per year) and newsletters.

There is one direct report; a digital marketing specialist. Additional shared staff to assist in the execution of duties include creative, digital and copy editing. The position is remote-based with the ideal candidate located within the Washington, DC metro area and able to attend events and meet with community leaders in Washington periodically. A small amount of overnight travel, perhaps 4-8 times per year, including to home office in Pittsburgh, PA is expected.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maximize audience engagement as measured by registered users (50%) and social media followers (50%).

  • Work with the digital marketing specialist to produce and repurpose video, written and audio content that connects with our audience and maximizes engagement. Produce formats to enable user questions to be answered by experts.

  • Cultivate a brand voice that empathizes with the challenges a military lifestyle places upon a marriage but also provides positive, emotional and utilitarian ways to deal with those challenges.

  • Produce content around key life events facing military families, such as deployment, PCS moves, and military weddings.

  • Form and maintain strong relationships with key influencers in the military spouse community.

  • Research and produce lists pertaining to the military spouse community.

  • Cultivate user-generated content.

  • Manage print circulation vendor.

  • Work with creative director on layout of website and print magazines.

  • Work with head editor on copy-editing of print magazines.

  • Analyze content performance and use insights to produce better content.

  • Work highly collaboratively with SEO and share measurable KPIs for organic traffic generation; supporting the company’s SEO goals through content, partnerships, and social media efforts.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Direct to Consumer Teams to develop partner-driven content and distribution opportunities that align with brand and business marketing initiatives.

  • Partner with Product/Brand Marketing and Digital Marketing teams to identify, create, and repurpose content to support sales, acquisition, and lifecycle marketing needs through campaigns, landing pages, blogs, etc.

  • Maintains, analyzes, and trains stakeholders in web analytics (Google analytics, email metrics, etc.) to continually improve web content and user experience.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Passion for the military spouse community.

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in audience engagement or content strategy role.

  • Google Analytics proficient.

  • Deep interest and understanding of emerging digital formats to connect with an audience.

  • UI/UX experience a huge plus.

  • Proficient in producing content for video, social, mobile, paid.

  • Strong networking and leadership abilities.

  • An understanding of the current challenges and opportunities facing military spouses, especially junior spouses.

  • One who speaks social, digital, video as native languages.

  • Strong track record of professional performance.

  • Strong storyteller in multiple media forms.

  • An ability to produce content in small, consumable chunks. A journalism background is not a requirement.
