Executive Underwriter, Private Non-Profit - White Plains, NY

Chubb is seeking a Private/Not for Profit Executive Underwriter in our White Plains, NY branch office.

Major Job Functions:
* Utilizes appropriate skills and tools to underwrite Private/Not-for-Profit lines including: D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Kidnap Ransom, Workplace Violence, Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Cyber Liability lines of coverage.

  • Conducts in-depth underwriting analysis and determines best course of action on a risk specific basis.

  • Accountable for the growth and profit of all Financial Lines business generated in Chubb’s White Plains branch.

  • Maintains underwriting quality standards. Includes appropriate file documentation relating to final underwriting decision.

  • Serves as the point person for managing assigned broker relationships. Maintains a high level of visibility through proactive account management, communication and visitation.

  • Develops and executes effective strategies to generate profitable new business.

  • Analyzes opportunities and creates business development strategies for assigned book of business.

  • Prospects for new business and larger book consolidation opportunities.

  • Collaborates to educate agents on products, services, as well as underwriting strategies and product marketing.

  • Develops and/or participates in broker education events including CE courses and product fairs.

  • Gathers pertinent competitive information to assist in product development recommendations.

  • Collaborates with all financial lines resources to direct local production activities

  • Provides coaching and development, as well as the necessary support and tools for assigned Underwriting Assistant to successfully execute the underwriting strategy

    Producer Management:

  • Partners with local Commercial Insurance leaders, marketing and branch manager to enhance producer relationships and cross-sell results

  • Develops a robust pipeline of prospects

  • Implements sales management process

  • Establishes business plans for key producers in the branch

  • Builds relationships externally and will represent Chubb Financial Lines in the marketplace amongst brokers, customers, competitors and industry organizations; must be able to play a key leadership role accordingly

    Skills & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success with 3 years of experience in Private/Not for Profit underwriting

  • Strong knowledge of Private/Not for Profit or E&O products, underwriting, marketing and the competitive environment. In addition, qualified candidates will demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities in revenue generation, leadership, producer management, as well as exhibited competencies in communicating, collaborating and executing strategy.

  • Influence management and proven ability to balance multiple stakeholder perspectives to achieve business goals

  • Translation of the Financial Lines vision/strategy into branch operating plan, as part of a branch team

  • Effective engagement and motivation of staff to achieve organizational objectives aligned with the regional vision and values

  • Collaborative partner with the field, home office, claims, general counsel, compliance, marketing and communications, and operations to successfully execute underwriting strategy.
