We are looking for an innovative, results-oriented thought leader with requisite experience and ambition. The successful candidate must have experience with the planning and implementation of process and business automation within global business operations. Experience with Lean Six Sigma and/or other process improvement methodologies is desirable. They will be self-motivated, creative and able to independently lead major strategic initiatives.

The focus of this role currently consists of Business Process Reengineering, Rapid (a.k.a Robotic) Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) - a component of Service Delivery Automation (SDA) to enable automation, digital operations & augmented activities at Chubb. The role will manage and mature a Center of Competency (CoC) centralize key functions, provide leadership and support to our regions with subject matter expertise, standardize and optimize processes, while strengthening governance. This position will report directly to the EVP of Digital Operations and Customer Experience and will have a key leadership role in analyzing BPR, RPA & AI opportunities and delivering automation solutions to Chubb.

The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the business, our technology organization, system integrators (SI) and partners by planning, conducting and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved through business process reengineering or automation. She/he will provide functional and technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet all business requirements; factoring current and future state. The successful candidate will lead a team of Business Solution specialists and will work with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. She/he will lead a team, SIs and partners in the preparation of business, functional, technical design documentation, system architecture and RPA development. She/he will act as an internal consultant within the organization by using tools and process definition / improvement techniques to re-engineer business / technical processes for greater efficiency.

This leader will collaborate with senior members of senior leadership team and executive partners across our global business units and functions. She/he will focus on initiatives that drive efficiency and operating leverage for Chubb, while delivering improved experiences and better outcomes for our internal and external stakeholders.


  • Execute global operating models for business process reengineering (BPR) and intelligent automation (IA).
  • Support and be a driver with the business in alignment of their BPR/IA needs / usage and business strategies
  • Engage with the business and functional units to identify initial process enhancement and efficiency opportunities, support the development of cost-benefit analyses, influence senior leaders to adopt new approaches and support the execution of the appropriate process and technology improvements
  • Partner with the business and functional units to identify additional process improvement opportunities drawing in appropriate support resources
  • Implement best practices for implementing process improvements including change management and upskilling of staff in process related competencies globally
  • Lead and provide leadership to a team of highly capable Business Solution Leaders; automation and Reengineering subject matter experts
  • Represent business process reengineering, intelligent & process automation analysis & design functions to the businesses to provide an RPA & AI opportunity identification capability across Chubb
  • Support the development of the IA analysis and design methodology including the related policies, procedures, tools and artifacts to ensure an “agile” implementation process that aligns with established release cycles and related enterprise standards
  • Mentor and support less experienced Intelligent Automation Analysts, business practitioners, Transformation Leads and Product Owners
  • Support and grow a comprehensive competency training framework and drive the development, execution and maintenance of training plans of business teams and within the CoC
  • Support the identification and implementation of tools necessary to support the CoC analysis and business design functions in partnership with CoC members, the ePMO, Business and Technology partners, complete assessments of business opportunities, including an “as is” and “to be” (i.e. automated / partially automated process) process map, project sizing, and recommended implementation approach
  • Manage BPR and IA aspects of projects in partnership with the ePMO and coordinate with the Business, Technical & Business Architecture Leads on overall project status
  • Drive for detailed initiative specific business functional and nonfunctional requirements that leverage BPR, RPA and AI capabilities always ensuring that risk & compliance requirements are met
  • Complete peer reviews on other CoC team members and regional teams in coordinate with Executive Sponsors
  • Identify the skills and capabilities Chubb businesses need to develop to transform operations and services to successful deliver its priorities
  • Establish the best practices for process and automation technologies
  • Ensure our business operations leverage data driven learnings for continuous improvement
  • Provide thought leadership on automation and future opportunities in emerging technologies, tools, and suppliers (partners)
  • With the CoC and Technology leaders and coordinate with Business Process Subject Matter Experts (SME) to identify and provide solution designs that meet, continuity, production issues & maintenance needs
  • Become the key contact for Chubb in the analysis, design & testing of Business Process Reengineering, Intelligent Automation solutions critical for business needs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Success Factors

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, digital, engineering, mathematics or information Insurance domain or financial services knowledge
  • 10 Years of business analysis or business process design experience or a combination of both
  • 10 years of leadership experience driving major cross-functional operational improvements in a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong Agile and project management skills
  • Experience with formal quality systems, such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • A broad business unit view of the business and understanding of strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
  • Ability to effectively interact with the full spectrum of disciplines necessary through the ideation, business case, design and development lifecycle (i.e. Business, Service / Operations, Claim, Finance, Business Process Design, Analysis, Functional / Technical Design, Development, Architecture)

  • A fascination with automation / new technologies
