Job Responsibilities

The Inside Merchant Sales Advisor focuses on growing client relationships with card processing needs. Serves as a member of an Inside Sales team, virtually working as a trusted advisor with partners and clients across Key s Consumer footprint, providing recommendations and solutions to help Small Businesses achieve their goals. May resolve client issues and execute appropriate action. Partners with various functional groups and lines of business throughout the bank for sales opportunities. The Merchant Inside Sales Advisor reports to the Merchant Inside Sales Manager.

Essential Job Functions

-This role will acquire new merchant services relationships through referrals from KeyBank banking centers and through prospecting external sources within the sales representative's assigned territory including outbound dialing on Campaigns and Lead Lists.

-Present and sell merchant payment processing (including Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, MasterCard, check processing, gift cards, ACH) and the corresponding hardware and software products to small and medium size businesses.

-Consult with prospective businesses in identifying the proper payment solution to meet the business needs.

-Identify merchant's other banking needs and work with available KeyBank resources to deliver solutions that meet those needs

-Handling referrals from internal KeyBank units such as local branches, Business Banking, customer service, Private Banking, and Treasury.

-Prospect small and medium size businesses in sale representative's assigned region to supplement bank referrals.

-Work closely with branches and other bank divisions in order to stimulate bank referrals.

-This position requires developing a strong pipeline for new revenue growth and developing and maintaining relationships with existing accounts and banking centers to identify/solicit new revenue growth opportunities.

-Assist other bank units in making virtual joint sales calls to assist with merchant services in the business banking space.

-Remain focused in a work from home environment performing daily and weekly expectations to achieve monthly business outcomes.

Required Qualifications

-Associates or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent sales experience

-2+ years of sales experience in the financial services industry

-Preferred payment industry experience

-Ability to consistently achieve monthly sales goals

-Strong marketing, business development, relationship management, sales and negotiating skills

-Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

-Commitment to customer satisfaction

-Highly motivated with ability to close deals

-Provide ability to develop new business through prospecting

-Ability to multitask and change direction in a dynamic payment processing environment

-Ability to creatively resolve merchant concerns and issues

-Ability to close sales in a competitive environment virtually

-Effective planning and organizational skills

-Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

-Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously

-Exceptional interpersonal skills and interactions with a wide range of personnel across the bank

-Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook

-Ability to attend team meetings with minimal travel as needed

-Conversational use of additional language (For example: Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, etc.) is a plus
