Combined Insurance Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney in United States
Chubb's New York City New York House Counsel firm, Eustace, Marquez, Epstein, Prezioso & Yapchanyk is seeking an experienced and skilled New York litigator for the position of Casualty Attorney. The Casualty Attorney will handle a caseload of the firm’s high exposure and complexity matters throughout the New York City State and federal venues.
The successful candidate must be an attorney licensed to practice before New York's State and Federal Courts, should possess 5 years of demonstrated success in litigating a wide range of New York tort matters, and should possess the professional stature and business acumen needed to be a productive member of the firm.
The successful candidate should also possess: · Expertise litigating premises liability, construction site accidents, elevator accidents, motor vehicle liability, product liability, industrial accidents, municipal liability, contractual indemnity, wrongful death and complex medical and economic damages. · Enthusiasm and aptitude for trying cases to a jury, with demonstrated successful trial experience preferred. · Expertise and prior success with written advocacy, e.g. summary judgment and/or appellate. · Deep knowledge of New York State and Federal Court procedural law, pleading, discovery, motion practice and pretrial techniques and strategies · Advanced oral and written advocacy skills, with a demonstrated track record of summary judgment and/or appellate success. · Cutting edge knowledge of the substantive law applicable to New York tort defense litigation, with advanced analytical skills needed to address complex legal issues. · Commitment to and proficiency in effectively and strategically communicating with clients, Claim Department customers and law firm colleagues regarding litigated matters, including consistent adherence to time-sensitive formal reporting requirements . · Demonstrated, deeply-ingrained enthusiasm and skills necessary to provide excellent customer service to clients, claim examiners, internal customers within firm · The technological savvy to thrive as a litigator in a digital environment · Strong team player willing to work effectively with others, at all levels and to step outside a defined role where required to advance the firm’s business · Ability to work independently, efficiently and carefully in a high volume environment · Excellent time management, organization and attention to detail
