Full Time Permanent Contract – 38.5 Hours per week

Salary - £17,000

Hertz Accident Support (HAS) was founded in 1997 and continues to build on its established track record in providing exceptional service excellence across a full range of Claims Management services, specialising in non-standard vehicles and drivers. HAS was acquired by Hertz in 2013 and is now combined with one of the largest global rental brands in the industry.

The HAS Head Office is based in Verwood, Dorset and employs approaching 200 people and we are currently looking for a Loss Control Agent.

What is this role all about?

Dealing with all issues arising from our hire vehicles including damages and cost incurred. This may include logging and recording first notification of loss, assessing damage and circumstances and deciding as to whether HAS are able to supply a new hire. The role also includes invoicing and managing the recovery of parking tickets, speeding tickets, driving offences and any other costs incurred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow the rules as stipulated in referrer profile when handling damage to a vehicle.

  • Accurately gather and record all required information, recognising where further interrogation or validation may be required over and above a customer’s version of events.

  • Satisfy company security requirements in respect of client identification and fraud detection, ensuring team leaders and/or managers are notified of any suspicions

  • Liaise with third party insurers, witnesses, repairers and other interested parties as necessary to fully validate or progress the claim.

  • Assess damage and establish roadworthiness of the hire vehicle

  • Assess if a further hire car is required

  • Ensure that all outstanding expenses on the vehicle are reimbursed i.e. parking tickets, speeding tickets, fuel shortages, driving offences and theft of the vehicle

  • Have an overview of the Association of British Insurers and General Terms of Agreement guidelines relating to the providing of hire

  • Be able to overcome a client’s objections and seek a suitable resolution

  • Processing invoices, payment plans and write-offs

  • Liaise with private investigators, police and solicitors as required

  • Processing all related administration documents

  • Contribute/assist in championing the need for continuous improvement, seeking to improve processes and efficiencies.

  • Strictly adhere to company data protection policy and work towards individual targets

  • Any other ad-hoc duties
