Combined Insurance Marketing-VP, Marketing in United States

The Northeast Regional Marketing Manager supports the Boston, New Haven and Rochester branches representing an estimated $1.4 billion written premium across all business units and segments. This leadership position’s core responsibility is to lead the regions sales and distribution efforts. To be considered, candidates must demonstrate leadership ability to create strategic plans, implement programs, organize resources, initiate action and motivate people. It is preferred the candidate have advanced proficiency in sales and marketing, negotiation and communication skills. These skills are necessary for meaningful and successful interaction with agents, brokers and clients which positively impact financial results for the region.

This role works closely with the REO, RCOO and Branch Managers to prepare and execute overarching marketing plans that support and drive branch profit, growth, and service. In addition to direct accountability for driving the marketing strategies and processes in the Boston branch, this role also provides strategic consultation and oversight for the New Haven and Rochester branches and all business units represented in the region. A record of success in leading and developing people is important.

The Regional Marketing Manager creates/monitors action plans and activities by agency/broker to ensure the development of business prospects and renewal retention to achieve budgeted goals. The individual in this role must be able to build and nurture long term relationships with key producers and customers, as well as possess the ability to initiate new producer appointments while reviewing and recommending appropriate action regarding existing producers. A full breadth of agency types is represented in the region including large multinational brokers, interstate and large regional agencies, and independent agents. The candidate must demonstrate an advanced understanding of the business and financial operations of agencies and brokers including local market conditions and competition. The Northeast region currently has 400 appointed agents, including 25 commercial and 27 personal lines Cornerstone agents.

Additional responsibilities for this function include: · possess a strong knowledge of Chubb’s various lines of business and market segments across all business units · work collaboratively and influence colleagues to achieve mutually beneficial goals including growth, retention and other financial metrics · maintain an aggressive schedule of producer travel to ensure Chubb’s visibility in the marketplace and that appropriate messages are communicated to producers · drive impactful delivery of cross-training, cross-selling and upselling for legacy Ace and Chubb products and services · assist the branch managers and business unit managers in premium and strategy planning and execution · Implement and manage a branch/region key account program to ensure retention of top accounts · administer, disseminate and leverage producer compensation programs · provide strategic and analytical support to the REO and RCOO · Provide leadership in accessing opportunities for growth in each business unit and collaborate with department managers to identify, articulate and execute priorities · Identify and share information regarding local competitor products and underwriting strategies · Assist departments with the development of employee sales and marketing skills and practices · sound organizational skills to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Technical Skills: In addition to requirements noted above: · Advanced proficiency in communication, collaboration and problem solving · Exceptional internal and external relationship management skills · Advanced proficiency with Microsoft products, agency management systems and sales tracking systems · Advanced proficiency with MIS and other financial reporting data

Education/Experience: · Prior leadership/management experience is required · Prior experience as a Marketing Manager or Production Office Leader is preferred · BA/BS degree or equivalent in education and experience

Candidates must be willing and able to physically reside in the Boston office in order to be considered for the role.
