Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
Minimum of 2 years related service experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Strong statistical, analytical and decision-making sense of urgency skills are necessary.
Must be quality and customer oriented.
Experience in coordinating activities among departments or groups is necessary.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential.
Must possess strong knowledge of development methodologies and problem solving skills.
Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
CAD experience is desired.
Ability to perform required duties with minimum supervision is preferred.
Knowledge of Health Canada regulations desired.
Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for employees who are at risk for exposure to blood or other bodily fluids on the job. Provide leadership and direction for the Engineering team to consistently meet or exceed performance objectives for:
System set up
New product/repair introduction
Technical support (Production/QA/RA/CSR etc.)
Workshop improvement/Cost reduction
Provide continuous evaluation, development and improvement in Engineering team performance to produce the highest levels of Quality.
Routinely identify and prioritize areas for continuous improvement with each Engineer through Success factors.
Evaluate, recommend and implement process improvements to improve cost quality and delivery metrics.
Use Plan, Do, Check, & Act (PDCA) method to analyze quality trends and make quality improvement recommendations and work with production supervisor to implement.
Establish and maintain communication across departments to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction is attained.
Support continuous improvement measures by providing analysis and correction of technical information and by recommending industries best practices.
Facilitate technical training on new products, processes and change notices to employees.
Coordinate Change Notices (CNs), Non Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPAs), and Corrective Action Reports (CARs) in a timely manner, to close and/or achieve acceptable levels of compliance.
Investigate and report weekly on discrepant material notices (DMNs).
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Richmond Hill, CA - Under the direction of the Director of Service & Repair, the Engineering Manager supports production objectives to improve quality and delivery. The incumbent will evaluate, recommend and implement shop floor process improvement activities. He/She will function as Project Coordinator on more complicated projects as defined by the Director of Service and Repair, and will provide technical information to other project participants/cross functional teams, recommend cost-effective procedures, track and maintain implementation dates. The incumbent will assist with the continuous improvement of the endoscope service business as a whole. He/She will provide support to Associate Engineers on his/her assigned projects. The incumbent champions, develops and promotes quality activities to meet regulatory and quality requirements while supporting business goals and improving customer satisfaction. He/She will be accountable for developing and executing solutions relating to quality and ensuring the Quality Management System is implemented and maintained effectively in the organization.
