Vinnell Arabia Principal Trainer, ELTS in United States


Acts as executive assistant for the Chief, ELTS. Teaches English language, provides Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) instruction and guidance, and conducts basic automation training classes. Ensures proper training standards are maintained.

A. Duties/responsibilities:

  1. Develops and maintains supplementary learning materials.
  2. Prepares training schedules.
  3. Monitors operations of language lab and equipment.
  4. Insures a proper supply of classroom texts.
  5. Teaches classes as directed by the Supervisor.
  6. Counsels students and instructors.
  7. Examines, studies, reports, and recommends adoption of new English training systems and technologies for the MNG training process.
  8. Provides input for the development of training-related programs.
  9. Reviews all US resumes, conducts interviews, and tracks employee candidates through the hiring process.
  10. Sponsors new employees, orienting them to both Vinnell and ELTS.
  11. Substitutes for the Chief, ELTS.
  12. Provides Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) instructions and guidance.
  13. Acts as test control officer, to include:
  14. Scheduling lab periods for tests.
  15. Assigning instructor monitors.
  16. Insuring the administration of tests in accordance with established procedures.
  17. Distributing grade sheets to instructors.
  18. Teaches basic automation training using MS Office Suite to trainees who have passed the English Comprehensive Level test the first time. Included are basic instruction on the use of electronic mail and sample Defense Language Institute (DLI) instructional CD.
  19. Performs other mission- or administrative-related duties as required or assigned.

B. Independence: Works under the general supervision of Chief, ELTS; performs within broad objectives with significant choice of methods.

C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Substitutes for Chief, ELTS and supervises ten ELTS Instructors.


A. Education Level: Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in English Language education or TEFL.

*B. Experience: *Minimum five years teaching English as a foreign language, preferably supplemented by at least one year of educational management experience.

*C. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: *Skill in working with students, teachers, and administrators; skill in using language labs and equipment; skill in using SMART Boards; native speaker of the American language with degrees from American universities. Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Professional software.
