Solution Engineer - Cloud Security & Management Specialist

We are seeking senior security specialists with a strong

technical track record of cyber security in customer facing roles to join our

Solution Engineering team.

The Oracle Solution Engineer is a technical pre-sales role

that will partner closely with our sales teams to develop new business, as well

as to position Oracle solutions at the heart of the largest

transformations. This will include a strong focus on security and

management of solutions based on Oracle's public cloud.

Passion, curiosity, technical depth, excellent objection

handling and exceptional communication and presentation skills are required.

The technical focus of the role is twofold - you will

provide expertise in the security and operations of Oracle's public cloud

platform and infrastructure services as well as expertise to support the sale

of Oracle's security and management products.

Experience in cloud solutions with Oracle, Amazon AWS or

Microsoft Azure is also advantageous.

Responsibilities include:

  • Primary responsibility for Oracle's securitycloud services (ID Management, CASB) & Oracle Management Cloud Servicewithin Solution Engineering.

  • Assist in the creation of material and knowledgein the applicability of security and manageability across Oracle’s product andcloud based offerings.

  • Solution design: provide strong expertise tosupport local solution engineering in creating detailed technical and productsolutions for specified needs.

  • Solution sizing/costing and configuration.

  • Conduct proofs of concept tailored to customers'needs and proof points.

  • Discovery and capture workshops.

  • Solution workshops and product positioning.

  • Detailed product presentations in a sellingsituation.

  • Hands on demonstrations and configuration.

  • Written proposals such as RFP responses.

  • Design, validate, and present Oracle Cloudsolutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rdparty complimentary products.

  • Interact with all roles at customer, includingCIO, CTO, IT Architects, technical staff and business representatives.

  • Educate customers and partners organisations inoracle product offering and value propositions in the security domain.

Preferred skills & experience:

  • Wide knowledge of IT market and trends

  • Broad knowledge and experience in public cloudecosystems and IT infrastructure elements

  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as aconsultant, pre-sales, solutions engineer or an architect in the cloudecosystem.

  • Proven track record of proactive problem solving.

  • Strong infrastructure architecture / designskills with a passion for technology.

  • Strong hands-on technical skills.

  • Good written skills for answering RFIs and RFPs.

  • Excellent presentation skills at differinglevels of an organisation from C-level executives to IT.

  • Strong, overall knowledge of IT security, e.g.access control, firewalls, Identity management etc

  • CISSP (or similar) would be an advantage.

  • Good understanding of Cloud Operations and CloudSecurity.

  • Knowledge of Edge networking and securitycapabilities, e.g. DDOS prevention.

  • Strong hands-on experience and skills inIdentity Management, e.g. ID federation, SSO, governance, and directories.

  • Strong understanding of and experience withidentity open standards including SAML, OpenID Connect, and OAuth.

  • Database security knowledge would be anadvantage.

  • Good, in-depth knowledge of the security marketand key vendors.

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
