Chubb is seeking an underwriter in the Energy Industry Practice for the Southwest Region. The position underwrites companies in the oil and gas, power, mining and renewable energy industries and is based in Dallas, Texas. The Underwriter will drive Energy Industry Practice business results for their assigned agents, working closely with Regional Administrative and Commercial Insurance leadership, Home Office Managers, as well as colleagues in Claims, Loss Control, GC, and OSD.
Responsibilities * Underwrite and manage a book of business inclusive of complex, multiline accounts. Underwriting expertise needed in all lines of business: property, general liability, pollution, workers compensation, auto, umbrella, and excess.
Establish business plans with key producers. Identify and develop partner producers to support the growth and future of the Industry Practice.
Marketing: active in marketplace with agency visitation, presentations, and trade show networking, and identification and management of industry organizations to promote Chubb’s brand in the community, maximizing exposure and opportunities. Some travel will be necessary for agencies, conferences and meetings outside of Dallas.
Interface with insureds and prospects in the marketplace, championing Chubb’s industry specialization and showcasing craftsmanship. Some travel will be necessary to reach insureds outside of Dallas.
Coordinating with other Commercial Insurance industry practices to Cross Sell products and identify and develop a qualitative prospect pipeline.
Research, analyze, and respond to Industry trends to stay current: emerging issues affecting the industry and business plans, new product and service opportunities, and marketplace dynamics.

Skills The candidate must have 3 years of underwriting experience. The candidate should have a demonstrated expertise in handling complex accounts and a knowledge of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices. The candidate must have a track record of results achievement, customer development, collaboration, team work, problem solving, and communication and marketing skills. The candidate must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
