Overview

II. BASIC FUNCTIONS

Subject Matter Expert (SME) Mentor Trainer (M/T) who provides advice and assistance to the battalion support platoons and/or the Headquarters Company Commander. Plans, develops, and facilitates logistics-supply-support training for Ministry of National Guard company level support units. Assists the Team Chief as required. Ensures that all training complies with MNG Doctrine and train in full spectrum operations.

III. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Mentors and trains battalion logistics-support personnel.

  2. Plans, develops, and facilitates Sustainment training.

  3. Coordinates with Leader Training Section Sustainment SME during the development of lesson plans.

  4. Prepares and submits training reports and requests.

  5. Reviews and maintains sustainment reference material such as US Army publications, for applicability to MNG training.

  6. Mentors and trains during unit train-up in preparation for readiness exercises or deployments.

  7. Assists in the conduct of OPD, NCOPD, and MDMP (Sustainment focused) training.

  8. Be familiar with hybrid threat and its effects on sustainment operations.

  9. Be knowledgeable of War Fighting Functions (WFF).

  10. Perform other duties as required.

B. Independence: Performs his duties under the general supervision of the Chief Training Team 4.

C. Supervisory Responsibilities: 1 x Interpreter/Translator.

Qualifications

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Educational Level: College degree preferred. Sustainment specialty courses required. Combination of college, military and on the job sustainment experience preferred.

B. Experience: Senior non-commissioned logistician. Six years’ experience in unit supply or logistical specialist required. Experience with unit’s support platoon organization, function, training, and operations required. Deployment or combat training center experience desired.

C. Specific knowledge, skills, and ability requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Be knowledgeable of US military Sustainment doctrine. Possess the ability to interact with foreign military officials and US. Be proficient with Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016 and related programs. Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
