Technical College Recruiting Program (AAS):
Graduate of Associate of Applied Science in an approved program such as Process Technology, Petroleum Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, Electrical, Energy Technology, Industrial Maintenance, and Industrial Manufacturing
Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Valid driver's license with good driving record
Willingness to move to West Texas or SE New Mexico
Willing to work outside in various weather conditions
Excellent Communication skills
Willingness to work as part of a team
Occidental Petroleum is looking for students pursing their AAS in technical programs. Our technical program will consist of training and development opportunities. Starting your career path at Oxy in the following positions:
Are responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities, surveillance of general field operations, and maintenance of various databases regarding production and operations.
Automation Specialist are responsible for design, specification, installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation equipment in order to improve plant or oilfield system operation/uptime and reduce total operating costs.
In this assignment, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, process understanding and repair of electrical equipment in order to improve field system operation/uptime and reduce total operating costs.
In this assignment, you will be responsible for the preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of oilfield surface equipment. This includes knowledge and skills to maintain equipment reliability of various pumps, compression (screw and reciprocating packages), and associated plant/field surface equipment.
