Job Details:

Job Summary: Oversees all programs and projects in development for the company and assumes overall management responsibilities for the Production/Project Management department. This role estimates project/product development resource requirements and budgets by working with Business Development, Contracting, Operations/Finance, Engineering, Creative Services, QA, and Production. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with Director of PFO to ensure that all projects in Product Development are meeting defined revenue targets and are delivered within set budget

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the progress of development projects throughout the entire software development life-cycle, tracking milestones and goals to ensure their ongoing alignment with business goals and that they are delivered on time

  • Works with Directors and Producers to ensure that all projects are staffed with the appropriate skills

  • Anticipates potential issues on all projects in Product Development and proactively work with Directors and Producers to resolve these issues

  • Mentors Executive Producers, Producers, and Associate Producers (Project Management team)

  • Tracks and manages the performance for Project Management positions including directing the activities and professional development of team members, conducting staff reviews, taking corrective actions and recommending promotions

  • Maintains salary quartiles and balanced career paths for Project Management positions

  • Makes hiring decisions for Project Management positions

  • Define, manage, and iterate on production processes. Be the owner of the Product Development pipeline

  • Work with Business Development to provide Product Development input for proposal process

  • Work with Contracts to align signed contracts and product development plans as closely as possible

  • Ensure all projects are delivered according to the project requirements (CDRLs, SOW, or MMFs)

  • Analyze Product Development KPI’s and adjust Product Development goals and process based on those KPI’s

  • Provide leadership to Product Development teams; ensure that company goals are being communicated

  • Coordinate additional activities across the Product Development organization to achieve common goal of a profitable business

  • Maintains Policy and Procedures associated with program planning and scheduling administration and assures consistent application across company projects

  • Direct/delegate tasks to program management staff to achieve project and company goals

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four-year college degree, and/or equivalent work experience, plus twelve years’ management experience in digital creative services, video games, or related industry. Prior management and team leadership experience required. Must have successfully delivered multiple product development programs in the past. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous work streams and relationships. Able to manage, mentor and coach members of the production team. Proven ability to manage and motivate by persuasion and influence. Requires ability to make persuasive formal presentations, develop/negotiate detailed development plans and budgets, and write/guide development of truly functional specifications. Must be able to gain a Security Clearance.
