CACI International Aviation Technical Writer/Editor in Wall, New Jersey
CACI is seeking an Aviation Technical Writer/Editor for our partnership with the Army Communication-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) /Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) / Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) and CERDEC Flight Activity (CFA) in a recently awarded four-year opportunity that will enhance CFA’s mission in supporting the Warfighter. CFA Engineering and Support task order provides CACI the opportunity to enhance CFAs mission with state-of-the-art research, development and engineering, and to provide capabilities to better support aviation related projects for the advancement of C4ISR technologies. We are looking for an Aviation Technical Writer/Editor to help support our program office at Wall, NJ. Join Team CACI to help meet the needs of the DoD and forward deployed warfighters.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Support the development of aviation technical publications using standard authoring tools like Framemaker and Creo
Research technical information to ensure it meets reliability and maintainability standards
Write maintenance/installation procedures by processing source documents, notes, and vendor information
Support peer reviews and work with a team of technical writers with various backgrounds
Interview production assemblers, engineers and outside vendor personnel to gain insight into writing the procedures
Participate in change control board, document approval, and information gathering meetings, and perform other duties as assigned
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field and 3 years of experience with aviation technical writing
Active clearance at SECRET
Ability and willingness to support a travel requirement upwards of 50%
Significant and verifiable experience with the authoring of documentation in structured Adobe Framemaker (i.e. - SGML, XML, ATA task numbering, typically DTDs/schema, elements and attributes) or similar
Significant and verifiable proficiency with MS Office products
