Olympus America Inc. Product Manager in Waltham, Massachusetts
As a Product Manager working on the ANI Product Management team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by gathering voice of customer feedback, defining product specification and helping support the sales channels. In a typical day, you will:
Communicate with sales channels, work with R&D to define new products, and provide technical support for systems XRF and XRD.
Develop a deep understanding of the operation, applications and technical design of Olympus XRF System and XRD instruments and accessories.
Solicit market feedback to guide product line and new product introduction technical development and feature requirements.
Provide advanced instrument operation and application training to internal personnel and customers in a variety of environments, including webinars, classroom settings and on-site at customer facilities.
Provide advanced technical support to domestic and global customers, sales representatives and application centers.
Support global sales force with technical equipment demonstrations, key account presentations and training activities.
Develop and sustain of product line resource materials including training presentations, instrument web videos, marketing documents, blog posts and web site content.
Collaborate with multiple business departments, including global business centers, global sales representatives, business development managers, engineering, commercial operations, and marketing/communications to complete daily tasks.
Support new product validation in collaboration with Application team.
Support new product development as directed by Senior Product Manager by contributing to market segment and product requirement research activities.
Act as the liaison to external constituencies such as the sales force/sales support/service/business development and internal departments such as Commercial Operations, Engineering, R&D, Applications, Marketing and Production.
Work across department boundaries to define tasks.
Drive tasks to completion in a timely manner.
Increase sales volume and profitability of target product lines.
Ability to work independently.
Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in an applications, technical support, technical sales or product development environment is required.
Up to 30% domestic and international travel.
Previous experience with a spectroscopic technique or XRF technology is strongly preferred.
Previous experience with online or at line instrumentation is a plus.
Previous experience working with OEMs and/or integrators.
Familiarity with other analysis techniques is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in an international business environment.
Ability to coordinate and motivate people who do not work for you.
Ability to work as an individual or in a team setting.
Ability to execute when given targets without explicit step by step instruction.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for an energetic, resourceful and organized person with a scientific background to manage our XRF Systems and XRD product lines. This includes coordinating continued support and enhancements for the current line as well as overseeing the product introduction process for next generation products from pre-release through commercial acceptance and through the product life cycle. The incumbent will report to the Senior Product Manager.
