The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for performing analytics on revenue, margins, inventory, capital expenditures and headcount, as well as providing business partnering support to functional leaders. The position reports to the Senior Finance Director of the Bremen, Germany site and works closely with the business unit and site leadership team. The position will be located at our Waltham, MA facility.
Contribute to analytical process to drive impactful business decisions based on key performance indicators for a strategic Business Unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific
Partner with cross-functional business teams at various sites to manage functional spending reviews
Provide financial analysis around business expense reduction initiatives and capital expenditures
Help to implement pacing mechanisms with functional leaders for revenues, margins, inventory, capital expenditures and headcounts within a mixed system landscape
Key involvement in annual operating budgeting process
Provide business intelligence on business unit performance, opportunities and challenges
Contribute to dive deeps and complex analysis to understand variances to budget, prior quarters and prior years (bridges)
Drive continuous improvement and standardization of reporting
Act as a trusted business partner for functional leads in and outside the site
Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required
Recommends opportunities for financial improvements
Must have a Bachelors Degree from an accredited university in the field of Finance or Accounting
Must have a minimum of 5 years corporate finance experience (preferably within a matrix organization)
Must have demonstrated solid FP&A skills
Must be comfortable in presenting financials to Executives and Management
Must be able to drive business and partner with cross functional teams to achieve company goals
Must be willing to work extra hours when needed, especially during month and year end close
