The Maintenance Manager directs and coordinates the Vehicle Management and Analysis (VM&A) services and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance for approximately 1,100 vehicles assigned to Robins Air Force Base and within a permissible operating distance (POD) of 100 miles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans and organizes maintenance workloads to optimize the use of personnel and meet the requirements of the contract which include:

  • Vehicle Management & Analysis;

  • Corrosion Control activities;

  • Fleet Management;

  • Vehicle Control Function;

  • Maintenance Control;

  • Customer Service Center Operations;

  • Control Program, and;

  • Material Control.

  • Ensures maintenance operations are compliant with the ISO 9001-2015 standards.

  • Establishes program objectives and assesses progress.

  • Develops work scheduling and scheduling procedures to ensure most efficient use of resources.

  • Analyzes reports on maintenance schedules, performance, requirements and trends.

  • Coordinates, with supported unit commanders as necessary for problem resolution.

  • Evaluates Maintenance reports for performance trends, indicators and potential problem areas.

  • Establish a Vehicle Control Officer (VCO) program.

  • Prepare and process vehicles/equipment for shipment and turn-in Defense Logistics Agency-Disposition Services

  • Initiates actions/corrective actions to resolve problems and prevent delays in production.

  • Plans, reviews and manages OJT programs for subordinates.

  • Advises the General Manager on the status of maintenance workload and the effectiveness of support activities.

  • Interviews and makes final hiring recommendations for Maintenance personnel.

  • Prepares and presents briefings on maintenance related activities to Government personnel.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Associates Degree in the technical trades or equivalent military training desired.

  • Formal training in business/personnel management desirable.

  • A minimum of three years' general experience in management, professional, investigative, technical or other responsible work in providing services to support a specified maintenance mission.

  • Five years' specialized experience in progressively responsible positions encompassing the following: understanding of program planning, funds control, data collection and analysis, and control of techniques; broad knowledge of the organization and procedures of a variety of maintenance functions to include automotive, flight line assets, air crew, crash rescue and firefighting trucks, tactical, 463L, MHE, sweepers, base recovery/construction equipment and electronics equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Operational knowledge of and experience with the Air Force On-Line Vehicle Interactive Management System (OLVIMS), Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW), Logistics Installation and Mission Support Enterprise View (LIMS-EV Vehicle View), the Consolidated Request Information System (CRIS) Tool and the Vehicle Data Quality Dashboard (VDQD), is highly desirable.

  • Fluent in AFI 24-302, AFCSM 24-1, AFI 24-301, AFMAN 24-307

  • Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak fluent English

  • Computer Skills -Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint at intermediate level.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend instructions.

  • Ability to effectively present information to departmental management, employees, and government personnel.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

  • Ability to define problems, collection information and establish facts.

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
