AECOM is currently seeking an experienced
Cost Manager to be a part of the team in Warsaw office. As a Cost Manager you will be responsible for the following activities for the project or framework of projects: procurement management, contract management, budget preparation and cost control, variations and claims management, and the determination of final accounts. You will ensure that AECOM delivers the project or framework of projects within the budget and in accordance with contractual obligations. You will be also responsible for all internal contract, commercial, and financial activities in order to meet the project goals & objectives.
Cost Estimating including order of magnitude estimates at early project stage, budget estimates, project costs estimates at various design completion levels, calculation and quantities take off, pricing of BoQs provided by design team.
Procurement Management including but not limited to preparation and review of expressions of interest and pre-qualifications, production of tender documents and request for proposals, management of the tender process, analysis and evaluation of tender submissions, arranging and chairing contract negotiations, and oversight of the signing of agreements.
Contracts Management and Administration including the evaluation of the contractor against their obligations, evaluation of contractor’s claims and the provision of mitigation strategies to the Client, maintenance of appropriate records, and ensuring the contractor has the required bonding and insurance in place.
Cost Control including control of master budget identifying variances and mitigation actions.
Implementation of cost management system that details cash flow requirements in cooperation with the Customer and contractors, committed costs, costs remaining, and the overall cost to complete.
Review of all applications for payments (AFPs) and invoices from the contractors for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Production of written reports on the findings and the subsequent action to be taken by the Client.
Assessment of the validity of contractor’s requests for changes and variations of any kind, providing written recommendations to the Client regarding the appropriate action that should be taken. In addition assessments will need to be made of variations proposed by the Client, and management of the change process as appropriate.
Management of the preparation, submittal, review and settlement of the final accounts of the contractors.
Acts as AECOM’s representative for all day to day contract matters with the Client.
Responsible for the internal cost management and contract administration of the project for AECOM including but not limited to the identification, management, and agreement of variations and claims, and the resolution of contract disputes.
Preparation of the internal estimate at completion (EAC), and the provision of reports on earned value, progress against milestones, cash flow, and costs. Appropriate action is then taken to mitigate any issues as they arise, and opportunities are sought to improve the profitability of the project.
Responsible for the preparation of the application for payments and invoices to the Client, resolution of any issues, and the prompt collection of payments.
Assists the Project Manager/Director in devising and executing action plans to rectify potential cost overruns, schedule delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
Some liaison with Technical Services and Shared Services personnel for delivery of design, costs, schedules and overall project support.

- Experience within General Contractor organization and knowledge of German will be an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent - 3 years of technical university in engineering
Cost management experience in engineering and construction industry, including preparation of cost estimates, contract management, administration, budget and cost control, variation and claims management, and the determination of final accounts - minimum 5 years is required;
Efficient in software and programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and PDF editing tools
Experience with other then mentioned cost management systems or software is extra beneficial;
Understanding of shop drawings / architectural drawings
