Your Role and Responsibilities
We have positions available in;
This is an opportunity to join the IBM Customer Engineering team providing defect and non defect hardware repair activity to variety of equipment. The role will involve 50% engineering support activity and 50% technical support to clients in our ATM (cash point) and mobile device support operations.
Engineering support activities will include -
Working alongside more senior Service Representatives assisting with technical or multi-person support activities.
Logistics support including the distribution of parts and tools.
Acting under direction of a technical specialist, providing 'hands and eyes' assistance on site.
Technical support to clients will include hardware defect resolution on equipment ranging from laptop or desk top computers to ATM's (cash points).
Eager to learn new skills and new technical platforms
Flexible and adaptable
Able to uphold IBM brand image
Full UK driving licence
Able to effectively communicate to different groups of people
Broad knowledge of the consumer and business IT market place.
Have a sound basis of IT competences
Able to integrate into a pre-existing team.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Able to adopt manual handling practices based on appropriate training
Be able to use hand tools and simple test equipment (multi-meter)
Have enhanced objection handling skills
Creative and analytical problem solving skills
Physical and cyber security aware
Be able to recognized service level targets and work unsupervised to meet them
Work in a controlled and structured way
Show considered decision making
Varied working hours and shift patterns
System Services Representatives are the primary technical interface to clients for the coordination of hardware and software support and delivery of operational services. Sound pretty important? Absolutely! You will advise clients of preventive maintenance, configuration, operation and environmental factors which may drastically impact product performance or impair the client's IT operation.Successful candidates showing the right balance of skills and attitude will over time be afforded the opportunity to develop broader and deeper technical support skills that may include support to Data Centre products: Server, Storage & Network or public facing devices such as ATM & Banking Self Service Devices. Full training will be provided. Pre-Employment Screening will be performed as part of the recruitment process. As a System Services Representative you should be;Please also note for this role requires full PES checks to be made (includes credit check, proof of employment history, criminal record, proof of address history and National Insurance Number)
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Electro mechanical experience and interest .
Demonstrate previous aptitude or experience for working with electro mechanical devices.
Excellent Troubleshooting and problem-Solving Skills.
Ability to demonstrate that actions taken have delivered resolution to a given problem.
