  • The FIAR Analyst shall provide in support and knowledge in government property analysis and valuation. They will also, demonstrate effective communication and decision-making skills relative to SSP’s financial business processes. Primary work location will be in Tyson’s Corner however, will have a minimum of 2 work days a week at the Washington Navy Yard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and evaluation of DoD-level policy to improve efficiency of acquisitions.

  • Provide support for physical inventory counts and warehouse operations; to include inventory control.

  • Periodically inspect activities for compliance with policies, procedures, and directives for accuracy.

  • Analyze reports, identify inefficiencies, and recommend Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to improve operations.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation/records associated with inventory management actions, receipt, storage and delivery of property, issuing and transferring property, or segregating and preparing property for storage.

  • Identify condition of material/property for valuation.

  • Document, update, and maintain process flows, cycle memos, and key supporting document tables.

  • Analyze the development and implementation of business process memorandums, policy, and standard operating procedures related to DoD financial business processes to ensure that each step of the processes is auditable.

  • Prepare presentations and briefings, and actively participate in client meetings and day-to-day interactions.

  • Perform analysis of business processes and internal controls to identify risks

  • Research new policy, guidance, laws, and regulations and identify opportunities to improve client internal controls, procedures, and overall operational efficiency

  • Assess the results of testing and training as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Active Secret Clearance (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Business Administration, Finance, Auditing, or Business Operations

  • Five (5) plus years of progressive experience participating in business and/or financial management services and related projects;

  • Previous experience supporting Department of the Navy or Department of Defense, preferred.

  • Some travel required <25%

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to interface professionally with the client and provide expertise as needed

  • Strong oral/written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Navy ERP

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
