Overall

Purpose: This position is responsible for both federal executive branch and

external affairs activities. Develops high level strategies and plans for

achieving regulatory objectives to include: interfacing with and responding to

United States Cabinet Officials, other confirmed officials, senior agency

officials, and Senior Executive Service officials.

Key Roles

and Responsibilities: Serving as a policy witness and advocate before the

Executive Departments and Commissions, relevant associations, and where major

corporate positions are at issue in the regulatory process. Creating persuasive

public policy positions and analysis of regulatory reform activity in order to

respond to emerging trends in the Telecommunications and Media Industries.

Overseeing successful coordination and status reporting of federal rule-making,

enforcement actions, tariff-setting, trade-agreements, budgets, and policy

initiatives from the administration. Developing policy positions and organizing

strategy with respect to regulatory and policy issues. Monitoring and

establishing guidelines to oversee the analysis of proposed rules,

investigations and enforcement actions to determine impact on AT&T and

appropriate action. Directing the presentation of company positions to Executive

Branch officials, third party stakeholders and company officers. Directs and

participates in maintaining contacts with government and business leaders to

ensure understanding and support for company objectives.

Education:

Bachelors or Advanced degree preferred.

Experience: 10

or more years of experience, with a preference for Federal Trade Commission

and/or consumer protection experience.
