In this role, you will act as the Commissioning Authority throughout pre-design, design, construction, TAB verification, functional performance testing, and final report. In this key role, you will have primary responsibility as it relates to scheduling, coordinating, and managing commissioning (Cx) activities.
Provides technical assistance for the development and management of a Building Commissioning program.
Reviews, creates, and edits guidance documents, handbooks, process and procedures on the Government's facility commissioning processes; when recommissioning/commissioning is required/recommended; and cost benefits.
Develops and provides presentation to Government leadership.
Assists with troubleshooting operational issues.
Submits monthly reports to client, and responds to client issues and expectations.
Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, contractors, and Construction Manager to identify and implement corrective actions.
Keeps client and Construction Manager informed of the day-to-day activities of the project.
Maintains accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent construction-related work experience as well as 15+ years of experience in field construction is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration required or Certified Commissioning Professional preferred.
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices.
Must have prior experience with commercial HVAC systems.
Experience should include design; construction; installation; maintenance; testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) building automation control systems; and troubleshooting operational issues.
Previous LEED and/or sustainable design project experience preferred.
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project.
