AECOM is actively recruiting for a mid-level Engineer for work in the area of Technical / Engineering Services for Navy Submarines. This position provides contractor technical support services for the VIRGINIA (SSN 774) Class Submarine Program Management Office (PMS450) in support of the Construction Management Division (PMS450C) and the Technical Division (PMS450T).
General duties include assisting government and assigned contractor support personnel in the Program Office management and oversight of:
General support of the VIRGINIA Class Submarine Ship Control System (using a Fly-By-Wire design); and
General support of the VIRGINIA Class Submarine Electrical / Fly-By-Wire Major Area Integration Team.
Specific duties include, for both the PMS450C and the PMS450T support:
Review test procedures, systems diagrams, test failure and resolution reports, engineering reports, Engineering Change Instructions (ECls), Ship System Manuals (SSMs), Tech Manuals (TMs) and other technical documentation. Assist with the effort to adjudicate / resolve technical issues as they arise. Provide technical analysis and recommendations as they apply to the VIRGINIA Class Ship Control System and the VIRGINIA Payload Module.
Assist in generation of Navy technical correspondence and associated routing documentation for key technical and programmatic contract deliverables, as well as tracking and monitoring of these contract deliverables. Additionally, interface with stakeholders in the PMS450 technical community to assist in the resolution of technical and programmatic issues.
Provide administrative and technical support in the area of meeting preparations and meeting minutes. Also, provide management support for periodic reports to include program planning, presentations, technical briefs, and graphics, requiring a working knowledge of Excel, Access, Project, and Powerpoint. Provide reports, presentations, budgetary information, schedules and other data as required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related scientific field
at least 7 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Two years of job-related experience may be substituted for each year of college.
An active Government Security Clearance, i.e., an in-scope Background Investigation with Access having been granted within the previous two years, at the SECRET level.
Prior experience supporting the VIRGINIA (SSN 774) Class Submarine Program Management Office (PMS450) in support of the Construction Management Division (PMS450C) and the Technical Division (PMS450T).
