Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

As a Junior DBA, you’ll have responsibility for daily database administration and maintenance, ensuring security, integrity, and performance of database servers. You’ll provide support and oversite of data integration with external vendors and fulfill data segmentation requests using the Microsoft SQL Server platform. This will include SSRS report creation and maintenance along with creating, testing, and debugging SQL objects. The position will involve troubleshooting database configuration, performance, and reliability issues. You will be asked to research products, frameworks, trends, and tools to improve the efficiency of services provided by the team.

  • Configuration of data servers and databases/table space

  • Software upgrades

  • Inventorying databases

  • Data migrations

  • Backup and Recovery support

  • Performance monitoring and tuning support

  • Troubleshooting support

  • Perform data ingestion, normalization, and data quality and validation using approved processes

  • Develop standard and ad-hoc reports for data visualization

  • Perform data replications and moves using approved processes

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Security+ Certification

  • 1-3 years of experience in database management and writing SQL database queries

  • 1-3 years of experience with SQL Server database development using T-SQL

  • An understanding of relational databases, reporting, and T-SQL coding, paired with a strong desire to learn new database-related skills being

  • Knowledge on how to design and deploy reports using SSRS Report Builder

  • An ability to learn and adapt quickly

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge on performing and restoring backups in Microsoft SQL Server 2016

  • General knowledge of Extract, Transformation, Load (ETL) development

  • An ability to communicate (orally and in writing form) effectively and tactfully with management and end users

  • An ability to be detail-orientation, organized and flexible to adapt to changing priorities

  • An ability to prioritize and manage multiple task while adhering to established timelines

  • An ability to perform analysis, code, testing and implementation of SQL procedures, functions, and other database objects.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Query optimization and performance tuning in SQL Server

  • Familiarity with Microsoft IIS

  • Familiarity with Scrum and other Agile Development principles
