Performs daily sick calls as referred by group living staff and maintains daily “profile” list.
Provides care and supervises the infirmary patient cases.
3.Treats all injuries, medical conditions and provides basic first aid (i.e. dresses minor wounds, splints and tapes joints, etc.) within the scope of training.
Provides first aid and/or life support in the event of an emergency.
Ensures all prescription medication is self-administered and documents administration and completion of any prescription medication.
Provides adequate security for all prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.
Ensures all life support equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.
Advises the appropriate parties of developing or existing medical conditions.
Informs the Supervisor of any irregular medical occurrences.
Completes Medical Incident Reports and communicates in a timely manner with Placing Agency officials, parents, guardians, and client manager’s/probation officers regarding students’ medical injuries or illnesses, if required.
Attends on-site sports and physical training elements to ensure “profiles” are properly adhered to and immediate response is available, if needed.
Assists with the distribution of student hygiene supplies if required.
Inputs student information in the student database if required.
Other duties as assigned, verbally or in written form to meet the needs of the program.
High School diploma or equivalent. Some college education preferred.
Current state Emergency Medical Technician Certification.
Certification in CPR-C (Provider) and First Aid.
Knowledge of basic life support procedures including but not limited to: patient assessment, basic life support cardiopulmonary resuscitation, splinting and bandaging, airway maintenance, patient handling and transportation to a medical facility.
Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.

- High School or better
- 1-2 year: 1-2 years experience in medical field preferred.
