Celadon, one of Indiana’s fastest growing companies, is looking for a Terminal Managerin its Operations division. The Terminal Manager must be an excellent communicator, proactive, analytical, solution-focused, patient and able to juggle multiple projects. Terminal Managers are responsible formaintaining a safe and secure facility for all personnel and equipment in the terminal, the day to day functions and operations of the terminal to includeplanning, and budgeting for Operations and Maintenance.


  • Follow all company guidelines and procedures as set forth in your employee and departmental handbooks. You are required to understand 100% of their content.

  • Establish, document and maintain personnel records pertaining to work schedules, time off and similar staffing issues.

  • Develop training requirements and procedures for personnel.

  • Perform administrative duties to ensure Terminal Operations comply with all company guidelines and procedures.

  • Manage the Terminal operation so that the driver/customer expectations are exceeded daily.

  • Assist with and be accountable to strategic planning, direction and budget processes for Operations and Maintenance.

  • Help develop, in accordance with local Sales representation, the right balance of freight needs in the area to exceed the customer’s expectations.

  • Find resolution to claims, billing issues, and service issues within the company guidelines.

  • Manage equipment utilization domestically with appropriate trailer pool agreements.

  • Communicate regional and competitor changes and fluctuations in the business scope to management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements


  • 4 year college degree and 5 years related experience in the truckload industry, preferred

  • Understanding of U.S., Mexican, and Canadian markets

  • Superior map reading skills

  • Understanding of U.S., Mexican, and Canadian geography, as well as developed map reading skills

  • Outstanding problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary to assist others in problem resolution

  • Demonstrated ability to work and manage in a team environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation requirements relating to ground transportation
