Home Depot Global Operations Manager - The Company Store in Weehawken, New Jersey
The Global Operations Manager will support targeted growth of The Company Store by developing exclusive products for the brand. This position reports to the Product Development Merchant and has partnerships with brand/marketing, merchandising, sourcing offices and independent global suppliers. All related exclusive product development projects are worked out from concept through to finished signed off product. Able to identify appropriate product that supports gaps within the assortments. The GOM is responsible for vendor onboarding and product education on protocol for “legal to sell” with the Quality Assurance team. This person is a cross-functional, strategic player who has strong communication /organization skills, a foundation of merchandising, and who understands fortifying a quality brand with premium exclusive items .
Must have updated global sourcing knowledge with those suppliers and countries that are able to support the developments. Key focus on providing accurate and timely communication to ensure that global sourcing programs are implemented and met within the specified timeline, budget, and quality standards.
The candidate must be able to use independent thinking and judgment to analyze complex situations. Must make timely decisions and provide recommendations for successful implementation.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
70% Onboarding of new suppliers and/or new products, including supplier training of the onboarding process/requirements. Possess thorough knowledge of product specifications and strong negotiating skills. Have a clear understanding of product engineering and its effects on costing.
15% Ability to create a quality premium assortment on this segment of the business that supports the brand. Proficient in global sourcing and familiar with overseas home textile suppliers.
15% Understanding of current marketplace products and competitive assortments.

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program. Courses of study that would be helpful should be chemical engineering, textile science , product development and understanding of various roles within retail.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 6+ years of product development home textile experience specifically targeting basic bedding performance.
