Finance Shared Services (FSS), part of Enterprise Finance & Information Technology (EF&IT), provides strategic guidance and streamlined support to meet increasing demands facing Wells Fargo’s businesses. FSS provides a strong, scalable and more unified model to effectively deliver shared services to the enterprise. FSS is responsible for Enterprise Global Services (EGS) - Delivery, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, Enterprise Transformation Services, Corporate Properties and Corporate Security, Operational Resiliency, and the Legal Entity Office, FSS Governance, FSS Strategy and Front Line Risk Management.

The Position

Wells Fargo Corporate Properties is currently seeking a candidate for a Corporate Properties Director role leading Transaction Management for Wells Fargo retail real estate. This role will lead a national team with responsibility for lease negotiations, real estate purchases and real estate dispositions for a multi-billion dollar commercial real estate portfolio of retail real estate including more than 5,000 community bank branches, and more than 1,200 Wells Fargo Mortgage and Wells Fargo Advisor offices.

The position will report to the Head of Corporate Properties, and is responsible for leading, managing, developing and implementing real estate transaction solutions in support of Wells Fargo businesses.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide ongoing management of real estate transaction activities for a portfolio of retail properties on behalf of Wells Fargo lines of business. Prepares, recommends, and implements a portfolio-wide transaction strategy for acquiring and disposing of real estate properties. Coordinates transaction staff, real estate brokers and other stakeholders in the execution of lease renewals, new site acquisitions, disposition of surplus space through subleasing or sale, early lease termination, and more.

  • Provide strategic vision and tactical direction for enterprise-wide initiatives related to real estate acquisition and disposition.

  • Manage a significant administrative budget.

  • Design new organization structure and build out negotiations teams responsible for retail real estate transactions in all domestic markets.

  • Provide strategic leadership for the team with emphasis on change leadership through significant organizational transformation. Must lead with integrity and empathy to support the change.

  • Quickly assess the strengths and capabilities within the current organization, implementing positive change relative to efficient and effective operations while driving team engagement, team member retention and team member development.

  • Develop and manage effective activity reporting, and provide transparency to the status of transactions.

  • Build strong relationships with leadership of Community Banking, Wells Fargo Advisors and Home Lending and work collaboratively across lines of business as well as with corporate partners to negotiate, influence, prioritize and meet business objectives.

  • Partner effectively with leaders of Lease Administration, Workplace Strategies, Construction Management, Property Management, Administrative Office Transactions and Finance/Accounting to ensure integration between groups and effective solutions for Wells Fargo businesses.

  • Work effectively across geographies to successfully manage complex issues.

  • Adheres to all national, state or local real estate requirements. Ensures compliance with Wells Fargo’s corporate policies as they relate to identifying and mitigating potential conflicts of interest.

  • Travel domestically as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of management experience

  • 12+ years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas: real estate, process engineering, strategic planning, or project management
