Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Advisor, who will be responsible for internal communications strategy supporting Shell Australia. This is an exciting time to join our business and the candidate we are looking to appoint should be able to demonstrate ability in building networks and engaging with key stakeholders, develop communications strategies which support business objectives, craft communications which help ensure employees understand their personal contribution to overall company success and help strengthen employee engagement, motivation and drive a high-performance culture. Change communications skills will be key to your success as you drive the consistency and alignment of the integrated communications strategy to support the performance and achievement of Shell Australia’s business outcomes, and create a one team culture in the organisation.

Requirements

The candidate we are looking for will be able to demonstrate how they establish strong leadership positions and build trusted and collaborative relationships to become the principal business interface regarding the delivery of internal communications for Shell Australia. They will be well versed in providing advice and coaching senior leaders to become more effective at employee engagement and dialogue. You will actively champion an approach that fosters enhanced internal engagement to support business performance and create content for internal communications channels in Australia ensuring message consistency, alignment and relevant translation across the Business and Shell enterprise. Equally of interest will be a candidate that can apply strategic measurement analysis and advice to senior stakeholders.

This is a variable role for someone who is able to make connections across organizational boundaries, enjoys developing and implementing communications plans, has the ability to influence strategically, can manage senior stakeholders and disseminate key messages across the organisation contributing to strengthening and enhancing Shell’s reputation. The role requires the ability to understand and communicate with a diverse internal audience, from office based staff on both sides of the continent, to operations people both onshore and offshore.

To ensure success in this pivotal role you will demonstrate expertise in communications and in use of traditional and new communications media, be effective in your communications leadership and management, have a proven track record in delivering successful internal communications programmes whilst complimenting this with a proven capability to deliver under time pressures and shifting priorities. An ability to understand business strategy and use internal communications levers to help deliver that strategy and to drive performance via your excellent communication, influencing and networking skills will be a distinct advantage.
