Job Summary

Over the past several years AECOM has participated and will continue to participate in major Alternative Delivery P3 and Design-Build projects in Canada such as the Gordie Howe International Bridge, Eglinton Crosstown LRT, Waterloo LRT, Honorable Herb Gray Parkway, Metrolinx’s Regional Express Rail, Edmonton LRT, Finch LRT, Hurontario LRT, Hamilton LRT and our most recent major win of the Réseau Express Métropolitain (also known as the Montreal LRT). Either as the Owner Engineer or as the Contractor’s Engineer AECOM Canada is acting as a Centre of Excellence for the delivery of P3 projects in North America.

Our Alternative Delivery Group is seeking an energetic Project Manager who is interested in advancing their career by joining the team leading the above exciting high profile and complex multi-disciplinary transportation projects and who is able to undertake design team and design contract management in a DB and P3 environment. The successful candidate will be based in either AECOM’s Mississauga, Ontario office or Whitby, Ontario office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Project management and leadership in delivering major transportation projects.

  • Defining project scope, developing project plans, developing project schedules and developing and tracking fee estimates and project baselines and budgets.

  • Tracking project progress of deliverables, milestones and other commitments to clients.

  • Determining and taking corrective actions on contractual, technical and commercial issues

  • Building, organizing and motivating project teams and managing daily activities and resources

  • Identifying services to be provided by external companies and negotiating agreements

  • Chairing internal and external or client meetings representing AECOM

  • Ensuring client satisfaction and overseeing quality review process for submittals

  • Analyzing and managing project risk

  • Managing reports and necessary documentation

  • Developing policies and procedures to support the achievement of project objectives

  • Business development / developing leads aiding in winning new work

  • Non-project management project, or non-core, work could include some or all of design reviews, scheduling, report writing, presenting

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years of P3, D&B and other Alternative Delivery design projects

  • Experience managing large and complex multi-disciplinary projects (e.g. track, civil, signals, structural, architectural, environmental, electrical, systems, approvals, design and construction schedules, contract execution, interface management, requirements management, etc.)

  • Experience dealing with both clients and technical staff

  • P.Eng. and/or PMP and/or MBA designation

  • U.S. or overseas experience is considered acceptable / equivalent to Canadian experience, but local (Canadian) experience is ideal

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various delivery / procurement methods is an asset.

  • Experience working with major contractors, public agencies, and municipalities (i.e. Cities, MTO, Metrolinx, CN, CP, TTC, VIA Rail, AMT, OC Transpo, or similar)
