POSITION SUMMARY: The Area Practice Manager (APM) will function in a strategic leadership position that will oversee the operations, budget, and management of a multi specialty group of practices, ensuring a vision and strategy for future growth. The APM is responsible for the overall operation of the business and clinical functions through administrative and clinical staff including providers, front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services over your assigned practices. As a key leader, the APM promotes effective communication and the company’s mission and values. * * JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Directs and manages projects for areas such as patient flow/satisfaction/volume, billing and collections, service utilization, and physician and staff training. * Develops, implements, and monitors practice budgets including analyzing financial impact of changes, forecasts, and expenditures. * Identifies practice/business development opportunities to increase practice market share. * Develops cost/benefit analyses of patient care services and equipment and oversees the daily/monthly expenditures, staffing, and overtime hours. * Handles Human Resource responsibilities including performance management, professional development, hiring, counseling, discipline, and/or recommending termination of employees as required. * Meets regularly with physicians to review financial performance and key practice indicators. * Develops and oversees implementation and administration of internal practice policies in conjunction with Physician Services standard policies and procedures and all regulatory compliance measures.
EDUCATION: * Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent is highly preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
EXPERIENCE: * Minimum three years work and supervisory experience in practice management of multiple locations. * Must have a working knowledge of healthcare financial management including medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow, and facilities management. * Experience managing multiple providers and large clinical staff is preferred. * Proven track record in growing physician practice revenues and volumes. * Physician Practice marketing expertise with a variety of tactics to grow and develop business.
