We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Maintenance / Reliability Engineer with our Wichita Plant Facility located in Wichita, Kansas.
Essential Job Duties:
Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
Develop, implement, and maintain predictive and preventive maintenance processes for plant fixed equipment per API, ASME, NBIC, etc, codes, and good engineering practices
Perform failure analysis on fixed equipment failures
Develop and implement solutions to high cost / high failure fixed equipment problems
Provide technical support for maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, major emergency repairs, and code equipment repairs
Ability to obtain and maintain API-510, API-570, and API-653 Certification Qualifications
Review proposed engineering and construction projects and makes recommendations on design changes to improve the reliability of equipment, to minimize maintenance efforts in making repairs, and to ascertain that adequate spares are provided
Provide technical expertise in the area of equipment upgrading and maintenance
Good communications skills both written and oral
Good organizational skills for planning & prioritizing mechanical integrity activities on an annual, 3-year and 5-year basis
Good team building skills to coordinate activities with production and maintenance to allow cooperative completion of mechanical integrity activities
Ability to learn new software programs to support capturing inspection data and completing vessel and piping calculations to verify compliance with guidelines
Ability to learn welding specifications and welding standards
Minimum of 5 years experience in Maintenance / Reliability Engineering
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or technical degree- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
Good understanding of Engineering standards, principles, and practices
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Extensive Knowledge of ASME, API, and NBIC preferred
Extensive Knowledge of non-destructive examination (per ASNT) Techniques and Procedures preferred
Experience in working with product vendors, NBIC Code Repair Contractors, Painting Contractors and other outside contractors preferred
Prior experience in maintenance or reliability engineering focusing on pressure vessel design or coordinating compliance activities preferred
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
