More than 50 agencies regularly request FBIname checks. In addition to serving federal government customers, the NNCPconducts numerous name searches in direct support of the counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and homeland security efforts of the FBI. The employees ofthe NNCP review and analyze potential identifiable documents to determine ifinformation exists regarding a specific individual, and if so, what informationmay be disseminated to the requesting agency. It is important to note that theFBI does not adjudicate the final outcome; it just reports the results to therequesting agency.
