Job Summary

AECOM is participating in every major P3 project in Canada (e.g. Gordie Howe International Bridge, Regional Express Rail, major LRT projects, etc.) either as the Owner Engineer or as the Contractor’s Engineer. AECOM Canada is acting as a Centre of Excellence for the delivery of P3 projects in North America.

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator with past experience in the coordination of multi-disciplinary design teams to join the Gordie Howe International Bridge design team. The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is a once-in-a-generation design-build project consisting of the longest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America, the largest Canadian port of entry along the Canada-US border, one of the largest US ports of entry in North America, and direct connections to Ontario’s highway system and Michigan’s interstate system.

The primary location for this role is the Gordie Howe International Bridge project office in Windsor, Ontario.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Develop and implement design submittal coordination procedures

  • Coordinate design review procedures including interdiscipline review, client review and resolution of review comments

  • Schedule, monitor progress, track and report on the status of design submittals

  • Support the implementation of design services during construction procedures including requests for information, shop drawing reviews, non-conformance report resolution and design changes during construction

  • Support project managers, project scheduler, quality manager, document control manager and other technical leads and project services staff with routine and non-routine tasks

  • Organize, participate and prepare minutes of meetings

  • Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience in project coordination

  • University degree in field of engineering or certificate in project management

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

  • Ability to work independently, strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to travel cross-border to site office in Michigan

  • Ability to obtain security clearance with Government of Canada or United States Federal Government

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation and/or facilities design build projects
