Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully leading Agile as well as traditional project management processes and software development life cycle. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned and an organizationally savvy leader with a broad understanding of technology's impact. The individual will be highly process oriented with experience of successfully implementing complex projects in a large organization. The candidate should be able to manage a team effectively while keeping people informed, while enabling the team to function at an optimal level.

Manages all aspects of a large scale project or project with a higher degree of complexity and customer impact; accountable for project schedule, financials, and deliverables; plans, monitors, and reports on the status; evaluates and authorizes work requests; coordinates delivery of work from all parties involved; produces reports to relevant level of management; is accountable for acceptance criteria.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manages small scale or sub-projects on a local basis and/or local aspect of a multi-functional project; Facilitates issue resolution; Reviews and approves vendor invoices/expenditures.

  • Is responsible for all aspects of managing a project including project staffing, financials, risk and change management, etc. Coordinates supplier activities and is accountable for Supplier work assignment, review and approval of cost estimates from suppliers, where applicable.

  • Is responsible for project level planning, monitoring and reporting on project performance at local and global levels. Managing a small group of staff with standard tasks; providing day-to-day project tasks; developing project concepts; developing delivery concepts and coordinating work from all suppliers; liaising between business and supplier teams for project delivery and post implementation support; managerial tasks such as resource management, development, talent management, performance management, compensation, retention, replacement and termination; and adhering to organizational governance.

    Physical Actions

    Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs. maximum, and seeing.

    Physical Environment

    Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment.

    Education Requirements

    Bachelors degree or equivalent or specific relevant experience

    Experience Requirements

  • Project & Functional experience in Property & Casualty Insurance is desirable

  • 5 years of development experience in any of structured programming languages.

  • Experience in leading and managing Internal and globally diversified development teams.

  • Prioritize deliverables in multi-project environment

  • Ability to manage and track Supplier work assignments and deliverables.

  • Guidewire PC Suite implementation and/or “Legacy to Guidewire” conversion experience is desirable.

  • Manage multiple and concurrent cross functional project(s) from conception through to completion.

  • Plan, execute, monitor, track and report large-scale technology projects using traditional and agile development processes & techniques.

  • Coordinate and drive project activities to deliver required functionality on time and within budget.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues.

  • Understand the “why and what” before the “how”.

  • Communicate effectively and clearly through written and verbal communication skills.
