What will you make with IBM?

As Project Manager, Systems Services Delivery Projects you will be responsible for understanding a client's business, applications, IT requirements and providing the consulting services and activities required to deliver IT Transformation Strategy and Design Services based on the historical knowledge and the personal contacts.

Based on the historical knowledge from the customer environment, you will follows methodology to analyze the current client environment, assess current strategy, perform an assessment and develop a solution approach toward implementation.

One additional part of your role would be also to secure the clients trust in the solution and mediate a solution in the area of conflicts between planning and realization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead project team in delivering IT solutions to IBM’s clients (external or internal)

  • Manage scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables of the assigned projects which includes applying techniques for initiating, planning, executing, tracking and closing

  • Develop and execute upon a project plan to meet client’s requirement while meeting business objectives

  • Work directly with customer's environments, the TPM managing him/herself the deployment of his projects on the customer's infrastructure

  • Manage all project resources, incl. subcontractors to optimize performance, cost, schedule, and quality of the assigned projects

  • Actively manage project’s risk and issues

  • Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders

  • Provide a day to day direction to the project team and regular project status to the client and account team (PE, DPE, TTIM)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise


  • 2+ years of experience in managing projects especially in technical area or 2 years as previous OS Admin and with extensive communication skills

  • To be able to manage properly the technical activities planning / staffing with the account and other teams

  • To chair problem solving meetings/ mitigation plans definition when an issue occurs

  • To apply problem solving techniques and skills

  • has prior records of global customer experience

  • Has experience in managing technical / integration / automation projects and lead Design Architects

  • Has effective time management, documentation and organizational skills crucial for this role

  • Has excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills

IT Requirements:

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Windows/ Unix/ AIX

  • Application / Middleware upgrade

  • Application migration

  • Data Base

  • Network

  • Security

  • Compliance

  • VMS Migration

  • Infrastructure set up


  • English: Fluent

  • German: nice to have

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • PM certifications

  • Wintel / Unix Prior Admin experience

  • ITIL certification

  • know-how of the GPFS,

  • technical certified architect
