Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of Amentum, is seeking candidates for a rewarding career opportunity to support and be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. We seek an Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Technician located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The successful candidate will perform scheduled Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) work on a variety of fire protection systems at a Class 2 Nuclear/Class 4 Mining facility. Work will include fire protection systems (fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire suppression) located in an underground mine and in surface facilities. Supporting maintenance and operations in troubleshooting and post maintenance testing for fire protection systems. Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to qualify to wear and work in a respirator. Must be able to obtain NICET Fire Protection Level I Certification in Water Based Systems, Alarm and Detection Systems, or Special Hazards within one year of hire.
NWP Non-Exempt Salary Grade (24 – 27)
Minimum Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED is required.
- Two (2) years of work experience in an industrial environment is mandatory.
- Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be US Citizens.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree with two (2) years of related experience is preferred.
- NICET Fire Protection Level II or III Certification in Water Based Systems, Alarm and Detection Systems and/or Special Hazards Systems is desired.
- Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
