POSITION PURPOSE:

  • Support Local Market in tasks related to accounting / tax and drive interaction between local accounting team and Global Financial Services (GFS) partners.
  • Manage & co-ordinate the end to end GFS processes executed in delivery centers as per agreed service levels
  • Monitor above market GFS performance, define and drive or co-operate on continuous improvement actions.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Business partnering

  • Provides an effective internal and external customer centric organization
  • Be the primary contact for all GFS above market activities (with exception of OTC) for the Local Market in Argentina and Chile
  • Support the Local Market in providing a superior professional accounting services.
  • Support the Local Market in partnering with other above market business management in order to support business priorities
  • Actively seek understanding of Local Market evolution, strategy and requirements and support Country Controllers in desired changes of systems and processes

Support the local Finance Team

  • Supports the Local Market in performing complex accounting tasks, and monitoring successful execution of ME close activities for US and Statutory driven processes
  • Support & execute defined statutory driven filings, including indirect tax reports , statistical reports, reports driven by national banks and other statutory bodies
  • Assist in execution or execute legal entity budgets and forecasts
  • Maintain a high standard of internal control that complies with Sarbanes Oxley, Corporate policies and procedures and compliance to GFS processes, execute on time review of market specific working instructions executed by all GFS partners
  • Support the Local Market by providing analysis or other documentation required by external stakeholders and authorities (statutory audit, internal audit, tax administration, industry representation etc.)

Support the Global Financial Services (GFS) organization

  • Manage relationships with internal and external above-market GFS services (European Capability Centre, Accenture, Statutory COE, Global Process Owners) as well as Corporate Tax and Corporate Treasury ensuring relevant services are being delivered for their country.
  • Develop strong relationships with Local Finance Teams & other teams (in particular Corporate Tax, Corporate Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, Corporate Treasury, People Services /payroll)
  • Review GFS performance metrics, help identify opportunities for improvement and work with local teams and other finance and business partners to drive sustained improvement. Work closely with the GPO organization on improvement of processes.
  • Identify and anticipate issues and opportunities relative to GFS processes and engage with the relevant stakeholders to ensure implementation of solutions in a timely manner
  • Readily embraces changes which will provide increased productivity or delivers increasing levels of service and advocate continuous improvement for our markets in global processes. And work with local teams to implement such process changes.
  • Actively keep a communication line with the Local Market & other financial functions (attend meetings and trainings organized by GFS)

Required Skills

  • Strong accounting background, local accounting and US GAAP; local statutory accounting; tax reporting and local market reporting
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Understanding of tax income tax as well as VAT and local tax matters
  • Good understanding of administrative processes and internal controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, confidence in dealing with people at all levels both locally, regionally and globally
  • Proactive approach, able to work on own initiative and without close supervision
  • Systematic, methodical approach with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Shared Service/Capability Center experience desired.
  • Knowledge about Argentina or Chile accounting rules is a plus
  • CPA or CPA equivalent required
