You will manage lab workflow by working closely with internal customers to align on priorities. Additionally, you will drive team performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals by leveraging resources and motivating personnel to create high performance culture.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Lead, develop, and motivate team to achieve established goals in an automotive power electronics laboratory+ Own the complete design verification and product validation testing process for new Eaton eMobility Power Electronics, Power Distribution and Power Conversion products in development+ Manage the prototype build process for electrical products that will go into test and for low volume prototype customer deliveries+ Proactively implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and Zero Incident culture enforcement.+ Conduct regular performance evaluations for direct reports. Continually assess career goals and create appropriate development plans for team members.+ Interface with key stakeholders in program management and engineering to ensure the completion of projects on time and on budget in alignment with programs. Staff appropriately to support program deliverables. Identify risk areas and elevate concerns as appropriate to mitigate the risks.+ Monitor industry trends to maintain compliance with industry recognized agencies. Identify and evaluate new technologies and equipment.+ Manage the planning, purchase, installation and qualification activities for new equipment to support lab growth and increase capability+ Monitor the equipment utilization to minimize costs and maximize availability.+ Support, communicate and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization+ Apply appropriate Eaton Business System (EBS) processes and problem solving toolsWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field.+ Minimum five (5) years of related engineering experience+ Minimum three (3) years prior management experience+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of Tualatin, OR. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:+ Experience in Automotive tier I or tier II product development+ Experience working in a power electronics laboratory building, developing, and testing new products+ Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams+ Experience in product testing, automated test development, Design of Experiments.+ Experience with various software tools (LabView, Python, C compilers, programming environments, programming stations).+ Understanding of automotive and commercial vehicle markets and the environmental requirements and related qualification testing required.+ Working knowledge of automotive standards (SAE, ISO, IATF)+ Working knowledge of automotive and serial data protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, J1939, LIN).+ Designing test and programming fixtures+ Advanced degree in business or technical related field+ Knowledge of DFSS, Red-X and/or DMAICPosition Criteria:+ Good interpersonal skills+ Ability to operate with minimal supervision+ Must have good written and oral communication and organizational skills.+ Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and direct team of skilled technicians to complete tasks within committed schedules.+ Travel to outside labs, customer sites, or external manufacturing sites, including offshore sites, may occasionally be required.+ Detailed skill in use of computer for test documentation and analysis.+ Able to use programming skills to develop automated instrument control and data acquisition programs.
